Misogyny: Building school cultures that holistically address sexism

This session will outline a range of approaches and strategies to address expressions of sex-based disrespect and gender-stereotyping – from the classroom to the staff room.

Dealing with incidents of sexism should never be the sole responsibility of those on the receiving end. Educators need a common understanding of acceptable boundaries and causes for concern in order to tackle them – and to promote safe and healthy alternatives - holistically.

This webinar will be an opportunity to:

Consider the extent of the issues at hand – including social influences seeking to shape boys and young men’s beliefs and behaviours towards themselves, male peers and women and girls.

  • Understand acceptable boundaries and causes for concern
  • Identify the challenges, pitfalls and effective responses to them; planning, communication, skill-building and responsiveness to changing contexts

 Suitable for: All members
